The Parish Annual Meeting is to be held at the Committee Room, The People's Hall, Howgill Lane, Sedbergh on Thursday 14 May 2026, commencing at 7pm

Sedbergh is an English civil parish within the unitary authority of Westmorland and Furness
Sedbergh Parish Council is committed to maintaining and enhancing the attractiveness and vitality of the Parish, investing in the fabric of the town and the community, encouraging development of local employment and housing opportunities. The Council represents the electorate at the most local level and is empowered under the provisions of the Local Government Act 1972 to incur expenses for any purpose that is in the interests of its residents. The Council's expenditure is attributed to various financial commitments to support its function, along with maintenance of local assets (owned or leased). These include (though not exhaustive) Joss Lane and Loftus Hill car park, public toilets on Main Street, the playing field/park on Howgill Lane and Queen's Garden.

Sedbergh Parish Council were pleased to take part in Radio 4's recent article on Living and Light - featured on Sunday 21 December 2025. The Parish Council were invited to speak, following their project to improve street lighting in collaboration with The Friends of the Lake District.

M6 Lune Gorge Structures
Please visit the National Highways website to view the latest updates on their scheme to carry out essential repairs to improve the lifespan of seven bridges that carry the M6 motorway over the Lune Gorge. The scheme is all within a six mile stretch of the M6 motorway between junctions 37 and 38.
